10th Anniversary logoThe CTDA welcomes everyone who is interested in keeping and sharing the historical legacy of the people of Connecticut. Joining the CTDA means you join a community of people who own and care for their own collections, and share them with the world. Much like a community garden where each person may grow whatever they want on their plot, Members put whatever they feel is important to them in their collections, and share it with others to create something bigger than themselves.

Who can join?

Any individual, formal or informal group, or organization who is willing to commit to long-term stewardship of cultural content. 

How much does it cost?

CTDA Heritage is a free service (with certain limits) while CTDA Pro has a yearly subscription fee. See the details of membership on our membership page: (link)

What do I get?

  • All CTDA members get a account(s) at ctdigitalarchive.org a browser-based management system, where they can load, manage, organize, and display their collections.
  • Continued ownership of your collections: you can decide everything about them–including how they are described and how they are seen by the public.
  • A public web portal for people to find and interact with your collections,
  • A way for you to add your CTDA content on your local web pages
  • Digital preservation storage
  • Training in digital content management
  • Support for writing grants, doing projects, and other activities. 
  • Participation in CTDA meetings, working groups, etc. that shape the CTDA for all.
  • The web browser-based management system,
  • Long term preservation-quality storage for all your content (up to certain limits),

What does the CTDA provide?

  • Connections: indexing in major search engines as well as the Digital Public Library of America.

  • The CTDA provides training and support through the whole process. CTDA staff are available to answer any and all questions.
