Description |
Description
Sarah Thompson obtained judgment against Nehemiah Marks, but the deputy "could not find" him, so Mordecai (most likely his brother) was sued in his stead. Nehemiah was a Loyalist who resettled in Canada in 1784. His father Mordecai (deceased as of 1771) was a Sephardic Jew who converted to Anglicanism.
