Reuben Hall, "an Obsconder Debter in Some unknown Parts of the world," abandoned his wife Mary, leaving her "Poor and Impotent... and unable to Support or Provide for her Self and said Mary falling into Distraction and said Town of Wallingford took said Mary under the Care of said Town as one of the poor of said Town and hath [Disbursed?] Large Sums of Money for her Support and Maintenance."
