Ephraim Pierson was bound on recognizance of 40 shillings on behalf of Submit Pierson, being served a writ of scire facias to appear before the County Court. A writ of scire facias (Latin, meaning literally "make known") was a writ founded upon a judicial record directing the sheriff to make the record known to a specified party. Submit had been accused of bearing illegitimate children.
