Rock Island Railway lightweight GM “Aerotrain” No. 3 on commuter train, departing Chicago, Illinois. The Aerotrain was a streamlined diesel trainset introduced by General Motors Electro-Motive Division in the mid-1950s. This train was on commuter service in Chicago, Illinois, but was retired in 1966 due to low power and difficulties involved in its maintenance.
