Description
Women, children, and men mill around the rose bushes at Elizabeth Park. Most are wearing hats, and all seem to be wearing clothing with long sleeves. The roses appear to be in full bloom. The photo was published in the Hartford Courant on page 3 of the Artgravure Section, July 3, 1921, along with four others from the garden. The caption for this photo reads, "THE TAUSENDSCHON, a favorite climber, is now at the bright of its bloom, set in borders of the delicate pink and white midget rose." Possibly a print from a glass negative. Uncertain if photograph was taken by a Hartford Courant photographer and given to the Parks Department, or if it was supplied to the Courant by the department.
